"Steve Stamkos is a full and complete player. He is one of the most complete junior players I've seen in quite some time. He is head and shoulders above all others. There is no doubt in my mind this player is the real deal and will be a special player. The Lightning's history of drafting and developing centermen is certain to continue." - Scotty Bowman
"Steve Stamkos is a guy, that when he matures and becomes the player everyone believes he can become, that will not only score 35-45 goals with 85-90 points, but will also be a plus-13. He is that well-rounded of a player" - Phil Esposito
"Stamkos is not a big type physical player but when in possession of the puck surprises his opposition with big man skills. He protects the puck well and makes his linemates better. Incredible skills!!" -Pat Burns, 3-time NHL Coach of the Year and Stanley Cup Champion
